From Buxton, take A515 south towards Ashbourne. Approximately 1 mile outside town turn left - signposted King Sterndale & Cowdale. Take first right after 1/2 mile, signposted King Sterndale (only). The road is perfectly straight heading downhill, before bending to the left. The Old Vicarage lies behind the trees on the right, just after the King Sterndale sign.
From the south, approach Buxton via the A515. About 1 mile north of Brierlow Bar turn right - signposted King Sterndale & Cowdale. Take first right after 1/2 mile, signposted King Sterndale (only). The hamlet of King Sterndale lies at the end of a mile long no-through road, with no bus service.
The nearest train station is in Buxton, about 3.5 miles away.
